Head of Category Management & Field Force
Category Managers advise our retail customers on the best shelf placement for our products, and help them understand and develop our product categories. As a Category Manager you are a business partner when it comes to the development of sales strategies. That’s an important responsibility, which brings new challenges and opportunities, including liaising between the company’s customer service, marketing and other sales departments, especially in a company with a flat hierarchy.
One of our Category Management success stories during the last years was a new placement tool for Heisse Tasse, which is our market-leading instant soup product. The change in Category Management resulted in an increase of up to 20% sales in stores!
I am also responsible for our Field Force. What makes this job so fascinating is the fact that we have a very successful field force cooperation with another local food company, called Carl Kühne. This kind of cooperation is unique in Germany. It is a great challenge to handle the interests of both companies together with my colleague from Kühne, and to put into practice the Category Management concepts we develop.
In the end it all comes down to the fact that we have a great team spirit at Continental Foods Germany!
